In just under 4 weeks thousands of medical school seniors, osteopathic graduates, and foreign medical school students will be finding out if they matched at the programs that they ranked for Residency.  They will find out the answer to the question that they have been asking for months -  "Did I get my first choice, second, or third?"   

Candidates begin interviews at medical centers and clinics of interest as early October prior to the March Match Day.  Applicants typically interview at several places and conclude about 2 months prior to Match Day.  At Noon Central Time, on St. Patrick's Day this year - March 17th, 2011 - the applicants and their programs will find out who matched and where.

Match Day marks a checkpoint in the Rochester, MN Real Estate Market -as many of the newly matched students come to Rochester to look for housing in preparation for their work at Mayo Clinic.  With low prices and interest rates, as well as a good supply of inventory, the Match Day class of 2011 is looking at some of the most affordable housing values in decades.  The old adage of "buy low and sell high" would seem to be a real possibility for this year's Match class with improvements to the economy and housing market in the next couple of years.  The variety of affordable housing is abundant this year and includes single family homes, condominiums, townhomes, zero-lot-line homes, and multi-unit properties.
